The Wrap Up

What's good y'all, it's yourboy_john (follow on twitter if you like) aka 2 Scoops. Now I'd like to start doing a little something called The Wrap Up where I sort of go through some stuff that happened this past week. These will be a little longer than usual but it'll also give you something to look forward to on Mondays.
Germany won the World Cup!!!
It's about time the World Cup ended if you ask me. It's not that I don't care, I just low key lost interest when America got beat by Belgium awhile ago and because I don't really care. I'll still take anyone on in a game of FIFA though, I'm unstoppable with AC Milan. And Mario Gotze is super clutch for that game winning goal. But I sort of forgot about the World Cup this week because of that whole Lebron going back to Cleveland thing, much more important.

Cleveland has got to be the luckiest and unluckiest franchise at the same time in all of sports. 1) They get every first draft pick whenever they want and 2) They get to have Lebron whenever they want. The only unlucky part is that they still suck and will probably always suck.
There's also word on the street that Drake is looking at houses in Cleveland. This is almost to good to be true. I'm all about Drake but he's an avid nut hugger of Lebron, so is ESPN. But that's none of my business either.
Another really important thing that happened this week is that I started playing Roller Coaster Tycoon again. That was best thing that could've ever happened to me last week. That game is such a great game, I had to tweet about it.

Ever since opening John's Fun Place to the public, I've been able to live again. Such a great feeling. When I was little my theme parks were lame because I didn't know then what I know now. But now as grown man my brain is full of things that should be put into a theme park. Hence the giant system of swimming pools carving through the park like it's the Mississippi River and all the tigers and camels walking around. John's Fun Place is so fun you'll never want anything else in your life, facts only.

Here's some tunes I ran into since my last post, it's been awhile. Happy Monday.

NBA Draft Preview

So the draft is among us and what better way to predict how good this draft class is going to be than to go only by these pictures they had to take.

Jabari Parker
I can tell that Parker finds time for business and pleasure. He's in a full suit and he's dribbling a basketball, the perfect balance of work and play. I'll bet you a million dollars that he'll go to a party during his NBA career but not until he wins a championship ring. Parker has his priorities straight.

Andrew Wiggins
I can already tell this guy is in to win and only win. The photographer told Wiggins look natural and Wiggins naturally hit the power stance. This guy was born to play basketball. His shirt is untucked because who plays basketball with their shirt tucked in, no one. Oh and you think he naturally held the ball to show the Spalding logo, of course he did.

Dante Exum
Dante Exum? Oh yea, he's that Australian guy. Looks like he's got good passing form so he'll be a solid guard for whoever drafts him. I still have no idea who he is. Hey, I bet you that I can google videos of his highlights faster than you can.

Doug McDermott
Wow he's white. I know he went to Creighton but come on. Anyways, McBuckets won't give your coach any problems. Clearly the rules of this photo shoot was to sit on the stool and smile while holding a basketball. Out of all the draft prospects, McBuckets was the only one who listened. He's the safest pick in this years draft.

Kirko Bangz can ball

This is the same guy who has that one song that sounds cool. You don't know what song I'm talking about, here you go.

I always wondered what one hit wonders did after making their one hit. If you're Soulja Boy you continue making garbage songs. But if you're Kirko Bangz you play in celebrity basketball games and get buckets.

My $15 dream team is better than yours

Ok so after calculating all possible combos I found the best one by far: Isiah Thomas, Michael Jordan, Julius Irving, Dirk Nowitzki, and Shaquille O'Neal. I will accept any objections to this but let me remind you, this is probably the best $15 dream team on the face of the earth.

Look at this, I got Thomas running the point which is a genius move on my part. This guy scored 25 of his 43 points in the 3th quarter on a broken ankle during Game 6 of the '88 Finals. He is the definition of putting the team on your back.

At the 2 spot I picked up MJ because he's MJ, next.

At the small forward spot I got Julius Irving aka Dr. J. They didn't call him The Doctor for nothing. He can straight up ball.
Dr. J was a legend on the streets before becoming a legend on the hard court. There's at least 5 million people there watching him play basketball in this picture, that should prove my point that he's a great player.

Now at the 4 I have Dirk for a couple reasons. 1) He's German and 2) his killer fadeaway jumper that goes in 100% of the time.

And playing the center position I have Shaq. This is such a steal, being only $2 it was a no brainer. How can you lose with a genie on your team, you can't, because he's a genie.
Side Note: This team is just one example showing I'd make a great GM in the near future.

Pacer win series 4-3, I'm salty

Yea I'm salty. The Hawks were the better team in the series but couldn't get that 4th win. I don't know what to say, I'm speechless. Teague was ballin out, the legend of Mike Scott was born, Millsap was doing what he usually does, get buckets, and Korver dripping wet from 3-point range. All I'm saying is that if Horford was playing it would've been a different story. But now that my team in the east is knocked out I'll cheer for whoever is playing the Heat and John Wall. Because the Heat need to lose and I've always liked John Wall as a player, he keeps it real.

This is why I love the NBA so much

Pacers even it up 3-3

I'm not going to lie, I honestly thought the Hawks were going to clinch it at home. I guess I was wrong and now they have to win Game 7 in Indiana to move on the next round to face the Wizards. I'm not nervous at all.

P.S. I'm liking Mike Scott more and more as these playoffs go on.

Breaking News: Frankie Muniz is buying the Clippers according to himself

You saw it here first ladies and gentleman. Move over Oprah, step aside P Diddy, back off everyone else who wants to buy the Clippers because Frankie called dibs. Apparently Frankie is a big Clippers fan so this is almost a perfect marriage. So the world can relax now because I found the Clippers new owner.
NBA team owner is such a good resume builder. He's already got Malcom in the Middle and the Cody Banks movies, being a team owner would put him up there with the greats.

Hawks win and take the lead 3-2

Just one more game Atlanta, just get one more and you made it out of the 1st round. Do you see that 41 point 2nd quarter, that's true hard work and determination. Everyone was getting buckets last night, I mean everyone. Shelvin Mack went off for 20 and Mike Scott was dripping wet from 3-point range.

That wink he had after his 4th 3-pointer, true player status right there.

Steph Curry's mom: Warriors #1 fan

I want to go a basketball game with Steph Curry's mom, because she looks like she knows basketball. In this dream scenario me and Steph are homies and that's how I get to sit with the fam during the games. I would get the hook up on free tickets then I would place myself right in between the mom and Steph's wife. I would sit there and enjoy the game, maybe give out a few high fives after a big play, you know the usual sports stuff. Then I would be invited to go to the celebration dinner after the games because I'm a close family friend of the Currys.

I need to move to the Bay Area asap.

Jeremy Lin with the best travel in the NBA

Jeremy Lin, killing the traveling the game right now. This is by far the best uncalled travel in NBA to date. I'm pretty sure James Naismith rolled over in his grave after seeing that. This might be the first time I've laughed and cringed at the same time. I'm amazed that he didn't just kept running until he got to the locker room.

Pacers even up the series 2-2

Great, just when I was getting a little optimistic this happens. This is going to be a tough series but I haven't lost hope. Always believe. I had a good feeling about this before the series started and a still have a good feeling about this now. I'm just a little sad but it's ok. The Hawks will return, they will return with a vengeance.

Clippers owner Donald Sterling's racist comments

Wow, this guy must really hate his job. How can you own a basketball team and not like minorities, the NBA is full of minorities. Well, on a more serious note, racism still exists. I don't care who the president is or how far away we're removed from the Civil War. People are still going to be treated different because of the color of their skin. Even though there as been a lot a progress in this country, there is still work to be done. This story has definitely reminded a lot of Americans that racism is still out there. I feel bad for the Clippers players, they probably knew this all along and had to deal with this for the longest. It's a shame that this story is just coming out.

If Baron Davis was getting crap from Sterling, just imagine how Sterling was treating the other players.

Hawks take a 2-1 lead over Pacers

So is it ok for me to be excited, because I'm excited. Teague is getting buckets,  Korver is getting buckets, everyone is getting buckets. The last time I was this excited was probably when the Hawks took the Celtics to 7 games during the Celtics title run. I'm still going to be the bigger man and not make any assumptions just yet. This is so nice and it's only the first round. I don't know if I can take the stress of finals coming up AND the playoffs. It doesn't matter though, because I still a have a good feeling about this.

People been sleeping on Teague, now he's finally getting recognition. I believe in Teague, I believe in basketball.

Pacers even up the series

Alright, so this is just a minor setback in the Hawks quest for a championship. I'm not upset at all, just a little salty about it though.

Yea, I'm blaming this all on you Vander, always finding a way to mess with my sports life. First you left Marquette early only let to me watch our season crash and burn, secondly you said the Hawks would win last night and they didn't.

P.S. Who has themselves as their man crush? Apparently Vander does. I don't blame him, I'd fall head over heels for myself if I played in the NBA for ten days too.

Game 2 Hawks vs Pacers

So this will be my only blog post today because this is all that matters to me right now. No offense to everything else in the world but y'all are my side chicks today and game 2 of the playoffs is my main chick. Gotta keep it 100 at all times. Facts only, no lies allowed.

How clutch would it be if the Hawks win tonight, it would probably turn Hawks fans into Hawks fans. That sounds sad but it's accurate. People give up on the Hawks too easily nowadays. I'm just glad we're playing the Pacers and not the Heat, if we're were up against the Heat I'd already be planning for next season.

Game 1 goes to the Hawks

Alright so the Hawks made the playoffs and they won a game, now everything else is just a solid bonus for me. I'm just going to enjoy this 1-0 lead over the Pacers for as long as I can. Teague was out there ballin, Millsap was out there ballin, everyone was out there ballin. Whenever I mention the Hawks people always ask me "Who do they have?" It doesn't matter who's on the team, because they all get buckets.

By the way, Teague's crossover was dirty. He's got the juice.

Playoff Time

Oh you already now what time it is, it's the playoffs. Probably the best time of the year for sports other than March Madness, Bowl Championship Series (BCS) and NFL playoffs in that order. Let's face it, college sports is way more exciting than professional sports. I don't know why but it's better. My Atlanta Hawks play the Pacers tonight and I'm not worried one bit. I think we'll win a game, maybe two. In a previous post I had two prayers, 1. make the playoffs (check) 2. somehow make it through the first round. I have a good feeling about this.

Tracy McGrady plays baseball now

Who says this guys athletic career is over, not me. I believe in T-Mac, I believe that he's going to make the MLB and play in the World Series. Well not really, I don't even know why he's doing this. But kudos to him for branching out and doing big things for the city. He played one inning, threw 15 pitches and 9 of them were strikes. How can you not love this guy. I'm more in love with the team he's playing for, the Sugar Land Skeeters. At least the Skeeters gave my man T-Mac a chance to do what he does best, sports.
I'm kind of mad Skeeter isn't the Skeeters mascot
P.S. Tracy's suit game though

This is not D Rose

I have a list of pet peeves and one thing on that list is when people mistake athletes for other athletes. Another one is when people still try to talk to me when I have my headphones on. If I want to talk to you I will remove them so I can hear what you have to say. But headphones means do not talk to me, it's a pretty universal symbol.

Paul Pierce gets his ankles broken again

Can someone please get this man some crutches. Every time he gets crossed a big alarm should go off in his head, RETIREMENT. It's about that time Paul, it was about that time since you won a ring in '08. Even though I've always had a thing for you Paul, being a Jayhawk and everything, you need to stop playing basketball if you want to keep your ankles, because as of now they're so close to falling off for good.

Come on Paul, he had you crawling like a small child.

P.S.
