Ladies and Gentleman, Tiger Woods is back

After going through some back surgery, Tiger will make is return to golf for the millionth time next week at his own tournament the Quicken Loans National. That's probably one of the biggest power moves I've ever seen, with the whole golf world wondering when he'll come back to golf he makes his return at his own golf tournament. Not only does Tiger play golf, he runs golf. Let's face it, golf is boring without Tiger Woods, tv ratings has been at record lows since Tiger stopped playing to recover from his back injury. I hate to say this but golf needs black people in it. I'm pumped that I can watch golf and not be bored anymore.
Yea, I'm pretty pumped.

USA wins the Curtis Cup

Last week America showed their dominance over the world in sports again by winning the Curtis Cup. For those who don't know the Curtis Cup is an women's international amateur golf competition that's played every two years between a USA team and Great Britain/Ireland team. These are the best female amateurs in the world going up against each other. Another impressive thing is that Mariah Stackhouse was the first black golfer to make the team in the events history. Right now she's playing college golf at Stanford which means she's REALLY good. S/O to all the black female golfers.

P.S. Mariah Stackhouse is from Riverdale, Ga which is where Waka Flocka is from and a little south of College Park where I'm from. We both competed in the Atlanta Junior Golf Association.

P.P.S. In 2007, I made the All-AJGA Team in my division while she won Player of the Year in the women's division. I had no idea she would end up playing for Stanford and representing America in the Curtis Cup and she probably has no idea that I'm blogging about this. Small world.

Kate Upton: A true activist

In the world of social media activists, Kate Upton is another person to take a stand via twitter. So apparently the LA Country Club doesn't let women play on their course until noon. If this is true it's pretty bad but if it's not then it just makes things kinda awkward.

Well that was awkward.

I'm glad Kate Upton is into golf though, there's a fun fact for anyone who needs one.

Cheyenne Woods qualifies for the US Women's Open

s/o to Ms. Woods for continuing to do her thing out on the LPGA. Tiger's niece is an underrated golfer, she had a really good college career at Wake Forest and her professional career is still full of potential. The last time she was in the US Women's Open she missed the cut, so this time she's going to win the whole thing. I'm so calling it.
Now that I got cable, I might have to watch the US Women's Open this year.

Jordan Spieth still looking for that 2nd PGA Tour win

So the Memorial Tournament aka one of the tournaments Tiger wins every year, is this week and Jordan Spieth is still trying to win this year. He should've won the Masters, which I'm still salty about and he could've won the Players Championship but he didn't. This guy needs to find his clutch gene so he can close out with a victory asap. He dropped out of school to go pro and he's ranked 10th in the world right now. He better win this week.
I'm not sure if this is sarcasm or nah, but I like the confidence Jordan.

Tiger doesn't let his kids beat him

"We have a lot of putting contests. I can't bend down to pick up the ball out of the hole, so we sand-filled all the holes so you can still putt to a hole. He's getting pretty good and is starting to understand speed and break. That's not something that is easy to pick up. I have my greens running about 13 on the Stimpmeter every day, so your feel has to be a little better. If Sam and Charlie beat me, they're going to earn it. That's how Pop was with me, and I think that's how it should be."

This is classic Tiger. When asked about whether he lets his son beat him in putting contest the answer is no. Plain and simple. The greens they're putting on are a 13 on the Stimpmeter! That's what I like to call a fast green. That's like putting on an ice rink. That's faster than the speed of light basically. If you were to putt on that green and turn on a light switch, the ball would roll in the hole before the light turned on. Oh, and let me remind you that these kids aren't even 10 yet. That's what happens when you're dad is the best golfer in the history of the game I guess.

Back on the golf course

Alright so, there's been snow all over the place up here for a very long time. Golfers all over the midwest have been in despair, but today was the beginning of the new golf season. It was nothing really, I was just being Tiger out there on the course. Now that he's injured someone has to pick up the slack. I'm excited, this might be the year I get down to a scratch golfer (zero handicap).

That's me standing on the right of Tiger, no big deal. S/O to there being 3 black people in this golf picture, talk about progress.

John Daly: True champion

John Daly doing John Daly things. A true legend in the game of golf. He didn't qualify for the Masters so what does he do, he hits golf balls off of peoples mouths. I wouldn't want to spend my Masters weekend any other way. Talk about the American dream, John Daly is living it everyday. He probably sleeps in a hammock indoors too, just because he can.

This guy has two major championships under his belt? You better believe it.

2014 Masters wrap-up

Another year, another Masters. Props to Bubba Watson for winning the Masters twice in 3 years, that's incredible. But what's more incredible is that he did it all with a pink driver, a slap in the face to everyone with the normal colored drivers. Shout out to the young guns, Jordan Spieth and Rickie Fowler for their top 5 finishes. I bet no one saw that coming.

Oh wait, I did. I just have a knack for seeing things before they happen I guess. My gut is all knowing, probably one of the best gut feelings in the world.

P.S. I find it hilarious that Jason Dufner retweeted this

Jason Dufner wears a pair of KD golf shoes during the 1st round of theMasters

I used to not like Dufner that much but he's beginning to grow on me now. Since Tiger isn't playing in this years Masters, I've been taking applications for who I should cheer for. Spieth and Fowler are givens but Dufner made a huge swag statement wearing basketball golf shoes yesterday.

His street cred went from 0 to 5 the moment he stepped foot on the first tee box, that's incredible. I'm still waiting for someone to rock a Mitchell and Ness SnapBack on the golf course though.

P.S. If only Tiger was playing and he wore that hat, what could've been.....
